Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favorite books I remember from when I was a child. Not only do I remember it, I remember enjoying it.

And anything that got me to sit still as a child is impressive enough to deserve mentioning. My old copy is still on the bookshelf, thousands of miles from the toy box it started in. I reread it again recently, and must say, got through the book in record time.
It captures all that is amazing about a child’s mind and illustrates it in the most fitting way. Kids who read the book enjoy it. Adults who read the book to a child should take away pointers for their own, often too stressful, lives.
Camera tests leaked of the soon to be released film of the same title. I was hooked. The trailer was released and seems to hold up to the core of the story. Unlike The Golden Compass, I don’t think that this movie will tarnish my memory of the book, rather enhance someone else’s vision of what is already one of the best children’s books out there. Sorry Dora and Bob, you don’t even compare.
The camera test footage has gone MIA, but the trailer is around online and the film soon to be released.
