This review really does not need to be that long…
Point A: It is a Pixar movie.
Point B: It is in 3-D!!!

For points C through me losing count: There was only one other time I can remember seeing a 3-D movie and that was on a cold December night at Wisconsin when Eddie got Spy Kids 3-D for a Christmas gift. Rather than tramps through the cold icy snow we brought the alcohol inside and shared the two pairs of 3-D glasses that came with the DVD.

Today’s 3-D glasses need to warn you that they don’t work as sunglasses. They are no longer cardboard and no longer sport red and blue saran wrap lenses. These came pretty close to matching the old guy’s glasses in the movie.
We got our glasses and went to a packed theater that was made up of mostly adults. I love 3-D! The ESPN trailer, the short before the film, and I guess the movie itself. 3-D should be everywhere! Well I guess it is all around and since I have two functioning eyes I do get to see 3-D on a daily basis, but I DON’T get to see 3-D while looking at a screen that is meant for 2-D. Movies are just more fun that way.
Oh right, the movie. It was funny, it was sad, it had an ADD dog that would challenge my own for biggest dough-head loving mutt. Put across good life points and makes a person enjoy the life and their adventures in whatever way they come to you.
Gripes, there are usually gripes. Gripes come from being bored and it was just too great an experience. Thinking. Still thinking. Now I’m thinking about a cup of coffee. Now I’m burning my tongue on freshly brewed coffee. Oh, the little boy! Your son floats off in a house and doesn’t even call and you aren’t sending out a search party for him. You aren’t even pissed off waiting and pacing at home. I am contemplating calling social services. Of course we all know I won’t; one you’re an animation and two that seems like a lot of effort. Maybe that explains the giant HR department that was in the credits hidden way at the end. Either way, the kid would have been better off with the bird.
No real complaints. Take your kids, or grab some friends that act like kids and catch it in 3-D in theatres before buying it on DVD.
Disclaimer: I wrote this immediately after getting home from the theatre and on the way home stopped at a bar to visit with some friends. Tomorrow upon a second look back the film may not seem so amazing. But for now, I’m gonna enjoy it!
